I joined this social network because I was very curious to see how people in this network wanted to change our environment. First, starting on a local scale and then hopefully reaching others through thoughts and ideas and spread beyond NJ/NY. Good, great lets get this going.

As I click through the recent forums I can't help but feel disappointed and slightly confused. I didn't know this place was going to turn into a political pissing contest. Everyone here has different views, faiths and ways of life, which I respect. Lets use the POSITIVE views we have that can work together.

We can talk about Iraq and Iran and everywhere else for days, weeks, months, years... oh wait- we already have been. Guess what? All our talk has done nothing to change the situation. I say make a separate "ning" network to continue that discussion. And remember, the US has more WMDs than anyone else.

Everyone has the right to express their views, but, lets remember what we're here for. We're here to try and prevent the earth's demise, not to debate each others opinions, but to educate by working together.

Hey Bad Vato,

Like jazzgatino said, the site got off to a bad start. A 'pissing contest' is probably the most accurate way to describe it. Gil and I, as founders and moderators of this community site will do a better job of keeping everyone focused on the larger mission, which is more of a unifying cause than a divisive one.

Thanks for caring enough about the site to voice your concern. Don't worry, it'll get better.

hey CJ,
Tom asked that we keep this to improving the environment. I mistakenly thought that we could raise issues in general having read an exchange that happened before I joined. Sorry if I have contributed to any anxiety with ongoing drumbeat issues! I'll keep my posts to positive environmental suggestions :)
